On Growth Path
FY24 marked a transformative inflection point for JSW Energy Limited (JSWEL), as the company’s total installed capacity reached an impressive 7.2 GW across thermal, hydro, solar, and wind sources. With an additional 3.4 GWh capacity from energy storage projects in our development pipeline, JSWEL is poised for further growth. “I am pleased to share that by securing additional bids of 3.4 GW through the auction processes, our total locked-in capacity has surged to 13.2 GW,” declared Sajjan Jindal, Chairman and Managing Director, JSWEL. This milestone was made possible by the robust underlying growth in power demand, which stood at 7.5 per cent, alongside a competitive bidding environment and our unwavering commitment to executing projects on time and within budget.
“Currently, 2.6 GW of projects are under construction, with expectations to be commissioned in FY25, bringing us closer to our ambitious target of 10 GW capacity by that time.” The unveiling of Strategy 2.0 signals JSW Energy’s commitment to intensify growth and diversify its capabilities within the energy sector. This ambitious roadmap aspires to expand power generation capacity to 20 GW and energy storage to 40 GWh by 2030. Jindal said JSWEL’s strategic framework emphasises evolution from power generation to a provider of energy products and services.
Through innovative solutions such as Battery Energy Storage Systems, Pumped Storage Projects, and green hydrogen initiatives, we are proactively leading India's energy transition while maintaining operational efficiency and sustainable growth. Aspiring for a 22 per cent CAGR from FY23 to FY30, JSW Energy remains dedicated to transforming the energy landscape with a best-in-class leverage profile.
