Jet Airways, India’s second largest airline, on Tuesday (February 23) appointed Rahul Taneja as its Chief People Officer (CPO).
The 47-years old Taneja, as Chief People Officer of Jet Airways, will be responsible for shaping the operations and performance of the group.
He will join the Executive Management Committee that has been tasked by the Board of Directors of Jet Airways to drive the company’s growth and future strategy.
Commenting on the appointment, Naresh Goyal, chairman of Jet Airways, said, “I am delighted that Rahul Taneja has joined Jet Airways as Chief People Officer and a key member of our executive management committee. He brings with him a global HR management perspective, and I am sure Jet Airways will benefit substantially from his expertise and experience locally and internationally. I look forward to Rahul working with our entire leadership team as we continue to execute our growth strategy”.
He has previously headed corporate human resources at Essar Group, HR Director at Dell International and Group HR Head at telecom networks solutions company, HFCL.
On his appointment Taneja said, “I am very pleased to take up this key role at Jet Airways, an airline that has emerged in a dynamic aviation industry as a great Indian brand with significant presence in domestic and international markets. As the company moves to its next phase of evolution, we will support this through effectively channelling our human capital to further enhance the guest experience and meet the organisation’s growth objectives.”
Jet Airways is also offering up to 30 per cent discount on economy and premiere fares for guests travelling on the airline’s international network.
The 7-day sale, effective from today (February 23) to February 29, 2016, is valid for travel from March 10, 2016, onwards on all Jet Airways’ direct flights, and Jet Airways’ flights aligned with strategic partner Etihad Airways.
In 2013, the UAE-based Etihad Airways acquired 24 per cent stake in Jet Airways.
The offer is extended to Jet Airways’ flights operated in conjunction with Etihad Airways, over the UAE national carrier’s Abu Dhabi gateway.
Combined, the two airlines have 15 gateway cities in India from where travellers can fly internationally.
The destinations under the promotion include the Gulf countries, Europe, U.S, Argentina and Australia.
On 6 February 2016, Naresh Goyal-promoted Jet Airways posted its highest ever quarterly profit of Rs 467.11 crore for the third quarter between October to December 2015.
Jet Airways has a fleet of 116 aircrafts which operates to 73 destinations, including 51 in India and 22 across the world.
