The 2017 Indian historical fiction film 'Baahubali 2: The Conclusion', which is continuing to break all records at the worldwide box office, is now going to compete with Aamir Khan starrer 2016 movie 'Dangal' in overseas markets.
As ‘Baahubali 2’ moves closer towards Rs 1600 crore benchmark worldwide, ‘Dangal’ is equally doing good and is set to achieve the milestone of being the second Indian film to garner Rs 1500 crore as worldwide box office collection.
Directed by SS Rajamouli, 'Baahubali 2' has become the first Indian film to cross Rs 1500 crore mark. It stars Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Ramya Krishnan, Tamannaah Bhatia, Sathyaraj, and Nassar.
The film continues to cross $20 million in North America and has become the first Indian film to cross the Rs 100 crore mark in the US.
But, at the moment, the question which arises is whether ‘Dangal’ will be able to break all the records of 'Baahubali 2' at the overseas box office. According to early estimates, as of May 23, 'Dangal' has managed to rake in a total collection of $116.21 million ( around Rs 753.23 crore) in third week in China, making its total box office collection (worldwide) to Rs 1497.57 crore.
This biographical sports drama has scripted box office history in China, running across 7000 screens in the country and becoming the first top grossing non-Hollywood film.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced under the banner of UTV Motion Pictures and Aamir Khan Productions, the film also features Fatima Sana Sheikh, Sanya Malhotra, Zaira Wasim, Suhani Bhatnagar and Sakshi Tanwar.
