IT player Infosys has expanded its partnership with technology giant Meta to drive advancements in generative AI through open-source initiatives. Leveraging Meta’s Llama stack—an open-source family of large language models—Infosys aims to make AI technology more accessible, to enable innovation across industries and enhancing enterprise integration of artificial intelligence.
As part of this enhanced collaboration, Infosys has launched a new Meta Centre of Excellence (COE) at its Bengaluru campus. The CoE is dedicated to accelerating the adoption of Meta’s Llama models and will focus on developing industry-specific AI use cases.
The initiative will also support Infosys’ internal AI projects while contributing to the broader open-source community. A key component of the CoE is an AI Experience Zone, where clients can experience firsthand the enterprise AI solutions developed in partnership with Meta.
Infosys has been an early adopter of Meta's Llama 3.1 and 3.2 models. It has integrated these cutting-edge tools into its own AI-first platform, Infosys Topaz. This platform harnesses generative AI technologies to craft innovative solutions that drive significant business value for enterprises. One standout application of this collaboration is a Llama-powered document assistant, designed to streamline contract reviews, boosting efficiency and productivity compared to traditional methods.
In a statement, Sandhya Devanathan, Vice President and Head, Meta India, said, “We are delighted to deepen our collaboration with Infosys, an association that exemplifies the strategic importance of open-source AI development. The integration of Llama within Infosys Topaz is a testament to the exciting possibilities of AI to drive innovation and empower businesses to harness the full potential of AI in transforming their operations. Open-source models like Llama are set to revolutionize enterprises, fast-tracking their digital transformation, enabling them to scale, innovate, and compete globally.”
