The National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM) praised Ratan Tata as a visionary leader whose unwavering pursuit of innovation reshaped Indian industry. The organisation's statement added, "We will always remember Ratan Tata as a visionary leader who redefined the landscape of Indian industry." His unwavering commitment to innovation, philanthropy and ethical business practices has inspired many individuals and organisations, and will continue to inspire future generations." His contribution in fostering ethical leadership has set a long-term norm for firms across industries.

Championing The Indian Automobile Industry

The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) expressed its sincere sadness over Tata's death, with President Mr. Shailesh Chandra recognising Tata's enormous contribution to bringing Indian autos to the global arena. "The Indian Automobile sector is greatly grieved by the demise of Shri Ratan Tata, a towering figure who played a pivotal role in elevating the Indian auto sector to the global stage. "He was a great humanist, visionary, and leader who championed innovations that are helping to build a better tomorrow," Mr. Chandra explained. Tata continues to have a huge impact on the industry, particularly through Tata Motors and the creation of inexpensive and ecologically friendly vehicles.

A Role Model Of Integrity And Social Responsibility

Anish Shah, President of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), praised Tata as a role model for ethical capitalism, as well as a businessman who demonstrated humility and social responsibility. "FICCI remembers Mr. Ratan Tata not only as a successful businessman, but also as a role model who exemplified integrity, humility and social responsibility." Shah stated that his concept of ethical capitalism, as well as his efforts to use business as a vehicle for societal good, have inspired generations of entrepreneurs and corporate executives. Tata's contributions to charity, particularly through the Tata Trusts, have had a significant impact on healthcare, education and rural development.

The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) recognised Tata's contributions to putting India on the world map in a variety of areas, including information technology, steel, hospitality and autos. ASSOCHAM Secretary General Deepak Sood noted, "Mr. Tata not only took a well-diversified Tata Group to several countries of the world but also immensely contributed to India's brand equity on the global landscape across sectors, including information technology, automobile, steel and hospitality." Sood also stated Tata's essential role in nurturing entrepreneurs that have since altered key areas of the Indian economy. "He motivated and played a pivotal role in incubating several startups, who, in turn, are transforming the business paradigm in critical areas of the value chain," Sood added, recognising Tata's ongoing impact on India's booming startup ecosystem.

Along with these associations, Poonam Muttreja, Executive Director of the Population Foundation of India, reflected on Ratan Tata’s deep commitment to creating a more inclusive and just society. She described his passion for philanthropy and social causes as ‘unparalleled,’ noting that his humility, compassion and dedication to selfless service set him apart as a leader. Muttreja affirmed that Tata’s legacy will continue to inspire those who work towards the values he championed.

Across the board, Indian trade associations reflected upon Ratan Tata's dedication to developing leadership in business and society, with a particular emphasis on philanthropy. Tata's contributions to important sectors such as healthcare, education and scientific research are internationally recognised.
