On Friday, Hindustan Unilever Ltd. reported its consolidated financial results for the period ending 30th September 2022. The firm’s total sales surged 16 per cent at Rs. 14,514 crores during the quarter.
The earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) for the quarter was recorded at Rs. 3,377 crores, which is a growth of 8 per cent. However, the EBITDA margin at 23.3 per cent declined by 180 base points as compared to 2021. The profit after tax before exceptional items for the quarter grew 9 per cent at Rs. 2,379 crores, which was Rs. 2,187 crores in the previous year.
The firm’s exceptional items for the quarter include restructuring expenses of Rs. 56 crores, acquisition and disposal-related cost of Rs. 6 crores and profit from sale of surplus properties Rs. 34 crores. The profit after tax for the quarter grew by 20 per cent at Rs. 2,616 crores.
The Board of Directors declared an interim dividend of Rs.17/per equity share of the face value of Re. 1/each for the financial year ending 31st March, 2023 at its meeting held on 21st October, 2022.
