Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu declared on Monday that the Himachal Pradesh government is ready to release water to Delhi as per the agreement with the Delhi government.
Speaking to the media here today, Chief Minister Sukhu said, “The Himachal Pradesh government is ready to release water to Delhi as per agreement with the Delhi government.”
While replying to the questions about the bye-elections for three assembly seats, the Chief Minister pointed out that these seats became vacant due to the resignation of independent legislators.
He emphasised that these legislators had the choice to support either the ruling party or the opposition.
The Chief Minister urged that the reasons behind their resignation, which involved malpractices and the sale of their memberships, be disclosed to the public.
He said, “Now let us see if they fight the bye-elections on BJP tickets.”
He also posed a question to the electorate of these constituencies, asking why these former MLAs, who were elected for a five-year term, chose to force bye-elections upon them."
The Chief Minister also condemned the terrorist attack on a bus carrying the pilgrims in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir, in which 9 people lost their lives, by terming it a ‘cowardice act.’
The terror attack took place in J-K's Reasi district on Sunday after a vehicle fell into a deep gorge after terrorists opened fire, killing at least nine people and leaving over 30 injured.
The Jammu and Kashmir police said on Monday, that at least two terrorists were involved in the attack.
"As per eyewitnesses, two terrorists were there as of now. A combing operation is underway in the area. Five teams have been formed to search in the area," Reasi Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mohita Sharma said. (ANI)
