Atanu Chakraborty, currently a Part-time Chairman and Independent Director of HDFC Bank has been reappointed for the same designation after Reserve Bank of India (RBI) approval for three years.
“We wish to inform you that the RBI vide its communication dated 02 May 2024, has approved the re-appointment of Atanu Chakraborty as the part-time Chairman of the Bank under Section 10B (1A)(i) of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 for a period of three years till 04 May 2027,” said HDFC Bank in an exchange filing.
Chakraborty is not related to any other Directors or Key Managerial Personnel of the Bank and he is not debarred from holding the office of a director, by virtue of any Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) order or any other such authority.
Chakraborty has also served the Government of India (GoI), for a period of 35 years, as a member of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) in Gujarat cadre.
