Google has launched Google Wallet in India, for Android users. The Google website says that the 'Google Wallet is a digital wallet that allows you to securely store your cards, tickets, passes, keys, and IDs.'
The Google Wallet can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and will allow users to store all digital documents in one place. These will include movie tickets, boarding passes, loyalty and gift cards. With the Google Wallet, users can do many of their daily tasks with more ease.
However, the company has clarified that the launch of Google Wallet will not affect Google Pay in any way.
According to Google's India blog, here are some ways you can better organise your life with the Google Wallet.
Movie Or Event Tickets: Google has partnered with PVR and Inox so that users can add movie and event tickets to their wallet.
Boarding Passes: Google has tied up with airlines and online travel companies so that you can save and access your mobile boarding passes in your Google Wallet.
Ride Public Transport: Google is tying up with metro networks in certain cities like Hyderabad and Kochi, so that you can purchase and store your public transport tickets.
Use As A Corporate Badge: By tying up with system integrators, you can save your corporate badges in your Google Wallet and get easy access to your workplace.
Digitise physical documents: You can digitise and store physical documents like QR codes, parking tickets, luggage tags and airline boarding passes and store them in the Google Wallet.
Automatically View Tickets Sent On Gmail: If you have smart personalization settings turned on, some tickets and passes you receive on your Gmail will automatically appear on your Google Wallet.
