Germany-based company Freudenberg Group has officially launched two advanced manufacturing facilities in Morinda, India, covering a total area of 40,700 square metres. Operated by Freudenberg-NOK India Pvt. Ltd. and Vibracoustic India, these plants consolidate operations from existing locations in Basma and Mohali.
The investment of over EUR 42 million is Freudenberg's largest financial commitment in India to date. The new plants are designed to cater to both domestic and international markets. They will focus on key sectors, including automotive and industrial manufacturing, optimising material flows and utilising modern equipment to remain competitive.
Sustainability is reportedly a central theme of the new facilities, which incorporate energy-efficient machinery and eco-friendly practices. The plants utilise photovoltaic cells to supply 15 per cent of their energy needs and include water-recharging stations to minimise environmental impact.
In a statement, Dr. Mohsen Sohi, CEO of Freudenberg Group said, "Our investment in the new facilities in Morinda reflects Freudenberg's strong commitment to the Indian market and the 'Make in India' vision. This expansion not only aligns with our global growth strategy but also boosts our ability to serve customers with greater efficiency, innovation, and quality. As we celebrate 175 years of Freudenberg’s legacy of excellence, we are proud to further strengthen our presence in India."
