All India Gaming Federation, a nonprofit entity organized the All India Gaming Summit 2017 on October 28th to discuss pivotal yet controversial topics such as ills of the present system, issues and challenges and self-regulation in skill gaming.
The summit also showcased the best global practices from regulated economies to work towards finding pragmatic and implementable solutions.
The event witnessed eminent speakers such as Mr. Hansraj Ahir, MoS, Ministry of Home Affairs, Mr. KTS Tulsi, Member of Rajya Sabha and Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India, Dr. Rajiv Mani, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Law and Justice, Mr. Kumarmangalam Vijay, Partner, J.Sagar and Associates. Mr Rich Moriarty, Managing Director, Global Syndicate, Union Gaming, Hong Kong to name a few.
Speaking at the All India Gaming Summit 2017, Roland Landers, CEO, AIGF said, “This is an endeavour to bring a common platform for Indian and International stakeholders to discuss pertinent issues.”
The CEO further elaborated as to how legality is important and why regulation is the need of the hour for the Indian Gaming Industry to fulfill the huge potential for growth that it possesses, to succeed in the market.
While gaming in India is a highly restricted business, the gaming legislations are state specific and there are a number of legal and regulatory developments which have an impact on such business countrywide.
An increase in young population, purchasing power, economic growth, technological advancements and the desire for varies sources of entertainment are some of the driving forces for this market in the country that were highlighted in the session organized by All India Gaming Federation.
Vaibhav Gaggar, Legal Expert, Gaming Laws while talking about the future of gaming in India said, “If the industry holds itself during the inflection that it is currently experiencing right now, it is going to be the largest industry in the market.”
