After Covid-19 pandemic, the concept of flexibility in workspaces has undergone a transformation, with both employees and employers adapting to new ways of working.
Now post covid the world is gradually returning to the office and traditional co-working spaces have given way to the rise of "flex spaces."
"Flex space contributes roughly 18 per cent of real estate that has been sold, and these numbers are also gonna go upwards as people are looking forward towards really being in the office, collaborating and working together," said Kushal Bhargava, Co-founder, My Branch.
The Remote is not working from home any longer, said Shyam Sundar, Founder & CEO GoFloaters.
“The remote is all about not being at the HQ all the time and every day. The office used to be one longitude that you’ll google find one place on the map but now it’s no longer one place on the map, it’s a physical environment where you could get things done, it's a plug and place where two things can happen flexibility and actions," Sundar explained.
While talking about the change in trends in working spaces, Utkarsh Kawatra, CEO, myHQ by Anarock highlighted the positive trend of corporate adoption of flexible workspaces post-COVID.
“Pre-covid people were thinking that coworking is for startups, freelancers but post covid you see corporate take up the flexible workspace, they’re now more open to this idea and the percentage has drastically increased," Kawatra stressed.
Furthermore, Mukul Ronak Das, Chief Business Officer, Stylework underlined the importance of work-life balance and pointed out that the focus should shift towards achieving productivity rather than working excessively long hours.
“We are not doing anything much about work-life balance really. I think we Indians take work too seriously and we end up working 18-20 hours a day, it is mainly productivity that is very important. But in Western countries they give their 80-90 per cent productivity in limited hours," he stated.
Syed Hidayath Ali, Director-channels & BDM, 75F brings attention to the importance of technology and innovation in the new workspace pattern.
"Technology unfortunately in our country, technology takes a backseat to a certain extreme,” he said.
The integration of technology, hygiene measures, and energy-saving solutions becomes critical in creating a comfortable and secure workspace experience for employees, Ali added.
