Dell Technologies introduced the Dell AI Factory, aiming to provide businesses with a comprehensive suite of AI solutions. This initiative encompasses a wide range of infrastructure, software and services designed to streamline AI adoption and deployment across various environments, including on-premises, edge computing and cloud platforms.
Jeff Clarke, vice chairman and chief operating officer, Dell Technologies, emphasised the growing impact of AI on businesses, stating, "AI is transforming business at an unprecedented pace. Data centres must be designed from the ground up to handle AI's speed and scale while new AI PCs are transforming productivity and collaboration."
Additionally, Dell AI Factory offers a foundation built upon Dell's existing portfolio, encompassing client devices, servers, storage solutions, data protection and networking equipment. The company is further expanding this portfolio with new offerings specifically designed to address the demanding requirements of AI workloads.
One of the highlighted advancements is the introduction of new AI-powered PCs featuring Snapdragon X Elite and Snapdragon X Plus processors from Qualcomm Technologies and integrated with new Microsoft AI experiences. These laptops target both professionals and consumers, promising enhanced performance and battery life through on-device AI capabilities.
Dell has also addressed data management and protection, critical aspects of AI innovation. The Dell PowerScale F910 all-flash file storage system caters to demanding AI workloads, offering faster access to AI insights with a significant performance improvement.
Further, PowerScale: Project Lightning introduces a new high-performance file system architecture designed to accelerate training times for complex AI workflows.
For networking, Dell introduced the PowerSwitch Z9864F-ON switch, powered by the Broadcom Tomahawk 5 chipset. This switch promises to double the network performance of AI applications through a modern architecture delivering high throughput, low latency and scalability.
In addition, Dell is collaborating with leading technology partners to deliver pre-integrated solutions and simplify AI adoption for businesses. Notably, Dell became the first infrastructure provider to partner with Hugging Face to offer optimised on-premises deployment of large language models.
This collaboration allows organisations to securely train and deploy custom language models on their own Dell infrastructure.
Dell Technologies is also expanding its professional services portfolio to deliver improved business outcomes from AI initiatives. These services include implementation guidance for Microsoft Copilot solutions and specialised support for rapid AI prototyping using the Dell Enterprise Hub on Hugging Face.
