With the government’s trial to make entrance exam easier through NEET, and supreme authority’s contribution, students nowadays are living with sword hanging on their head all the time. It has not even been a month of relief for NEET aspirants, whether to register for NEET 2 or not, is again a bad state for students to lie in.
What has led to major confusion this time, is government’s decision to hold back the answer key of first phase of NEET. As the deadline for NEET 2 registrations is 25th June, registering without expected score would mean surrendering marks students scored in the first exam held on May 1, this year. Since the students are not sure about their results, and it’s only the assumptions they can rely on, the controversy has introduced a new kind of turmoil to them.
The students, however, are allowed to sit for second phase of examination, even if they are uncertain about their results. But according to rules, the students have to give up the candidature of the first exam and surrender marks if they opt to appear in NEET 2.
Students and parents have been writing letters to CBSE for clearing the dilemma by disclosing answer keys, whereas teachers have suggested to extend the last date of registration for NEET II to June 30 and release the document soon.
"NEET-2 is for the betterment of students but how can they decide whether to give exam or not if they don't know the marks of NEET-1. So, it has been requested to kindly issue the OMR of NEET-1," Dr Sanjeev Soni, a parent, wrote in her letter to CBSE, according to TOI report.
