Speaking at the the Momentum Jharkhand Global Investors' Summit in Ranchi, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, (Trai) Chairman R S Sharma said that the mineral-rich state is doing tremendous work in the fields of IT,/ ITES, ESDM and startups. However, the state is doing little marketing about it.
The Trai Chairman highlighted three different layers which can bring a paradigm shift in the field of IT and Start Ups for the state. He said Digital infrastructure, without the digital infrastructure it would be difficult to take a single step. Second is software in demand, the state has to bet big on the software department which will provide services within the country.
"The third important thing is, empowering the citizens digitally. We have done very well in infrastructure, with 1.12 billion mobile phones and spending 11 billion minutes talking over the phone. I feel data is the new currency."
He felt due to political instability the investment has not taken place in the state yet. But now policies are good, political scenarios is stable and the state government has some very good policies for IT/Ites, Startups and ESDM. The chairman appeals for good marketing which will stop brain drain from the state.
