As the news regarding Dabur, a consumer goods company, notifying about its entry into South India with an investment of Rs 400 crore to set up a manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu broke out, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Dabur India, Mohit Malhotra expressed his thoughts on how the manufacturing facility is going to assist the company in growing in the region. He has also thanked the Tamil Nadu government for their support.
Later in the day, while stating that the Rs 400 crore investment will be rolled out in two phases, Malhotra took to LinkedIn and wrote, “Vanakkam Tamil Nadu. A big Thanks to the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu M K Stalin and Industries Minister TRB Rajaa for their wholehearted support and guidance in helping Dabur finalise Tamil Nadu as the destination for our latest fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) manufacturing facility.”
The Dabur India CEO stated that the company has signed a memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Guidance Tamil Nadu Managing Director, Vishnu, for establishing the unit in the state, which will be the company’s first plant in South India.

Explaining the details of the planned investment, Malhotra stated, “We will be investing Rs 135 crore in the first phase and then scaling it up to Rs 400 crore over five years. This is expected to generate direct employment for around 250 people, besides creating thousands of indirect job opportunities.”
“This investment will allow us to better serve the growing demand for our products in South India and strengthen our market presence in the region, besides enhancing our sourcing of agricultural produce from local farmers in Tamil Nadu,” the CEO further added.
Tamil Nadu’s Industries Minister TRB Rajaa broke the news about the investment. The minister took to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, “Welcome to Tamil Nadu, Dabur India! In fact, welcome to South India! In the presence of Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin, Guidance TN today signed an MoU with Dabur for the establishment of a world-class manufacturing plant, their first ever in South India, at the Sipcot Food Park in Tindivanam, Villupuram district.”
