The foundation stone for Management Development Institute Murshidabad (MDIM) was laid in 2010 and formally inaugurated by then President of India Pranab Mukherjee on August 24, 2014. MDI has been consistently ranked among the top 10 B-schools in India, and in this regard its new campus in the district of Murshidabad, West Bengal focuses on grooming ‘Thought Leaders and Change Masters’. The institute aims to instil in its students’ core values of accountability, transparency, trust, inclusion and empathy.
MDIM offers a two-year full-time residential Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) programme, approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, with specialisations in Financial Management, Human Resource Management, Marketing Management, and Supply Chain Management.
MDIM boasts a good mix of young, dynamic, and experienced faculty that doubles up as institution builders and student mentors. While faculty from MDI Gurgaon take regular classes at MDI Murshidabad, the students also get to interact with a host of specialised guest lecturers from institutes of national importance and distinguished personalities from the corporate world. The institute is equipped with Bloomberg Finance Lab powered by four Bloomberg Terminals, and a 24x7 library.
To promote extra-curricular activities and hone students’ skills, MDIM has set up various clubs and committees in public relations and media, finance, marketing, operations, economics, human resource and other domains.
SEEKING GLOBAL RECOGNITION: Recently, MDIM took significant steps in its vision of achieving global recognition by signing a Memorandum of Understandings with Orebro University (Sweden), EKLYA Business School (France), and HYBRIA Institute of Business and Technologies (France). The MoUs aim to foster development in the domains of teaching, research, training, and consulting while building international reputations of all the institutes involved through the exchange of postgraduate students, faculty members, academic information, and materials.
In pursuance of its commitment to excellence, MDIM received A** (A double star) grading at National Level and A*** (A triple star) grading at state level from rating agency CRISIL for 2021-22.
The institute has been granted membership of the Association of Management Development Institutions in South Asia for five years, effective April 2019. It has been felicitated with the prestigious BW Businessworld Top Education Brands Award 2020 in the category of ‘Excellence and Innovation in Management ‘. It was also recognised by the NHRDN-Shine.com B-school ranking survey as the best emerging B-school in the country.
