As the nation witnesses largest single day spike in Covid 19 positive cases today, RSS head shared his message on his views to fight Covid-19 pandemic. Bhagwat who heads nation's largest non governmental social service group RSS, recalled Sheron Lechter and Greg Reid's famous creation 'Three feets from Gold'. Bhagwat also talked about India's selfless efforts in providing medical aid to the world without compromising it's dignity. However his focus was on consistent efforts to curb the pandemic and not to lose hope.
Quoting Hindu God Hanuman he reminded of dedication, alertness, immunity and self protection as the four key pillars to help all the needful. Without naming any specific community, Bhagwat stressed on helping those who need immediate relief. Taking jibe on foreign nations he said, ' those who are far had managed to get their requirements and now they are gone'.
Bhagwat said it's the time to change our habits and be ready to have flexibility in our routine. He has also called for adaption of traditional lifestyle which is close to the nature and natural laws. When will the lockdown end is not a question to ask everytime, said Bhagwat. This is not intelligent of our part to consistently talk about the complete relaxation during lockdown as the end of this situation is critical to survival, said he.
RSS chief criticised people to disobey the compulsory quarantine. Bhagwat also talked strongly about the people who took restrictive measures to curb pandemic as deliberate act to restrict personal and religious freedom. He said that RSS has cancelled all of its important group activities till the end of June. Bhagwat also pulled attention of common people to not to fall in trap of anti social elements who are trying to take advantage of such pandemic for anti national activities. Going a step forward Bhagwat asked to restrain from blaming entire community for any act of social cowardice. Bhagwat urged to keep nation first so that anti-national sentiments can be removed during tough time.
Post lockdown
Talking about post lockdown situation, RSS chief focused on the online class and social distancing norms to be followed strictly post lockdown. He said that a different model of schooling can be adapted like classes for some standards and online classes for some standards. He said that it will be more important for all the social institutions to adapt a new model of working in small groups while maintaining the highest standards of sanitation. As this pandemic is first of its kind in the centuries, every elder in family has to become a role model for young generations said Bhagwat.
Bhagwat said that this pandemic had taught us about ways to get over social and economic crisis in its own way. He gave example of Prime Minister's recent conversation with village council heads where PM had talked about entrepreneurial skills at very micro level. Bhagwat stressed to pump up rebuilding excercise of the government with combined effort to be in better condition.
In his closing remarks Bhagwat called upon common men to give up unnecessary luxuries for better utilisation of resources. Every Indian must work together to use products and services made in country to avoid any direct or proxy attempt to take over India's economy said Bhagwat.
