Networking giant Cisco launched the Meraki India Region on Thursday, a new cloud region dedicated to enhancing India’s digital infrastructure.
Hosted on a cloud service provider approved by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, the Meraki India Region will look to support businesses across the nation in embracing cloud-first strategies. This initiative comes at a pivotal time as organisations increasingly prioritise local data storage and stringent privacy measures.
The Meraki platform is already used by over 8.1 lakh customers worldwide. It used to simplify IT operations and enhance secure networking through its comprehensive suite of services. These include wired and wireless networking, SD-WAN solutions, and IoT capabilities such as sensors. By centralising visibility and control, Meraki helps businesses reduce operational costs and drive innovation.
In a statement, Lawrence Huang, SVP/GM – Cisco Networking – Meraki & Wireless said, “Launching the Meraki India Region is a critical step to ensuring customers can securely connect and scale their business with the simplicity they expect from Meraki.”
