Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has not only altered the long-standing tradition by inaugurating the state-level school admission festival in the tribal-dominated village of Bagia in the remote border district of Jashpur instead of the state capital Raipur, but also demonstrated his commitment to providing quality education to the farthest corners of the state. The Chief Minister recently announced the transformation of the schools in Bagia and Bandarchua into model schools and the establishment of a residential school for children with special needs.
The CM also launched a statewide tree plantation campaign by planting a tree in honour of mothers and appealed to the public to participate in this massive initiative. During the state-level school admission festival, the CM promoted the message of enhancing girls' education by providing bicycles to schoolgirls, ensuring that they face no obstacles in commuting to school and can pursue their further education.
CM Sai interacted with a student who developed a robotics model in one of the Atal Tinkering Labs at Jashpur Government School. He praised the vocational education efforts in this remote district and emphasised the importance of skills and vocational training for the future generation. He personally engaged with students in making clay pots, underscoring the need to integrate vocational education with school education.
Highlighting the new education policy, the Chief Minister emphasised the significance of primary education in local languages. He mentioned the preparation of textbooks in the Sadri language, spoken in this region. Under the leadership of CM Sai, textbooks have been prepared in 18 local languages and dialects in Chhattisgarh. He instructed the school education department to organise mega PTMs in line with the new education policy.
Expressing his delight at the students' work during the summer camp, the Chief Minister announced that annual summer camps will be held in government schools. He stated that from this year, the state government will conduct two board examinations for 10th and 12th-grade students. Under the PM-Shri scheme, 211 schools are being developed as model schools in the first phase. On this occasion, the Chief Minister's wife, Kaushalya Sai, highlighted the role of parents in the education and upbringing of children. She offered useful tips for students' education and emphasised that mobile phones should be used only for educational, informative, and life-enriching purposes.
