A staunch believer in respect, integrity, open communication, adaptability, empathy and accountability, Schauna Chauhan has successfully built a robust, engaged and high-performing team. She believes these principles further contribute to the broader objectives of the organisation as well as enable individuals to achieve their best.
Chauhan also trusts in encouraging people to view challenges as opportunities and expanding their knowledge and skills to further propel innovation and creativity within the team.
Reflecting on her career, Chauhan says that she has been able to navigate it without explicitly encountering challenges attributed to her gender. “This could be due to my perception. I didn’t view any challenges I faced as directly linked to being a woman. My focus has been more on my work than on gender dynamics,” she explains.
Being in a leadership position often requires dabbling with personal and professional commitments simultaneously. “I schedule, prioritise and plan well in advance,” she says. Chauhan has always focused on the small victories and shared successes that resonate with her.
On her advice to the women aspiring to make big in business, she expresses, “Believe in yourself. Go to school. Become financially independent and you will see the difference. Do not allow anyone to tell you that you can’t dream big. The dreams are yours and no one can take them away from you.”
