After announcing a bunch of gaming laptops and desktops under its ROG series last year, Asus has updated its the range by launching new products on Wednesday (20 April) at a launch event in New Delhi.
The new desktop models added to the ROG series are ROG G20 and ROG GT51 along with ROG G501VW, ROG G551VW, ROG G752VY and ROG GL552VW gaming notebooks with prices starting at Rs 82,500. Of course, with that kind of high pricing you get a powerful performance package powered by the latest quad core 6th Gen Intel core i7 (Skylake) processors and NVIDIA’s top of the line GeForce GTX 900 graphics.
The highlight products consist of the ROG GT51 desktop and the innovatively designed G752VY laptop.
The ROG GT51 was recently announced at CES 2016 (Consumer Electronics Show) and had won the Innovation Award in the Gaming and Virtual Reality category. It runs on a 6th-generation Intel Core i7-6700K processor and supports not one but two NVIDIA GeForce GTX TITAN X graphic cards in a 2-way SLI arrangement providing enough power to run games across three 4K monitors. It also features a hidden hard drive called Shadow Drive which can only be activated by a special ROG Band which would definitely attract the geeks.
The GT51 has an internal cooling system with a dedicated air tunnel to provide an excellent cooling solution inside the desktop. The chassis has a transparent side window, and customizable lighting effects that showcase up to 8 million colors. Apart from these you get a one-touch overclocking solution as well as the new USB 3.1 Type C port.
The G752VY is the company’s flagship laptop which includes a unique design with a mobile 3D Vapor Chamber to provide efficient cooling performance. Rest of the features include a 17.3-inch full-HD (1920x1080 pixels) resolution IPS display, a 6th-generation Intel Skylake Core i7 processor, up to 64GB DDR4 RAM, the latest NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980m graphics. There is also a backlit anti-ghosting gaming keyboard with a fast response time, support for up to 2TB HDD (at 5400 RPM) and a 6000mAh battery as well.
The ROG G752VY, ROG GL552VW, ROG G551VW, and the ROG G501VW are priced at Rs 1,79,990, Rs 82,490, Rs 1,00,490, Rs. 95,490. While the desktops which include the ROG G20CB and the ROG GT51 are priced at Rs 1,22,990 and Rs 3,25,900.
