Asus Unveils ExpertBook CX54 Chromebook Plus

Asus has declared the release of the ExpertBook CX54 Chromebook Plus in India, marking its entry into the Chromebook Plus category with the latest Intel Core Ultra 7 processor. Designed for business and personal productivity, the Chromebook Plus aims to meet the needs of modern users with a focus on performance and connectivity.
The ExpertBook CX54 is powered by the Intel Core Ultra 7 processor, which features a base clock speed of 1.7 GHz and can boost up to 4.8 GHz. With 12 cores and 14 threads, this processor aims to offer significant performance capabilities. The device offers up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of PCIe Gen 4 SSD storage, offering fast and efficient operations. For connectivity, the Chromebook supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2, facilitating reliable network access.
This laptop features a 14-inch WQXGA (2560 x 1600) NanoEdge IPS touch display with a 120Hz refresh rate, which delivers clear and vibrant visuals at a brightness of 500 nits. The screen has a 16:10 aspect ratio and covers 100 per cent of the DCI-P3 color space, enhancing the viewing experience. It is also equipped with an 8.0MP HD webcam that includes noise reduction and array microphones, aimed at providing high-quality video conferencing capabilities.
As per Asus, durability is a key focus of the ExpertBook CX54, which meets military-grade MIL-STD-810H standards. The laptop features a sleek all-metal build and incorporates ErgoLift hinges to improve ergonomics. Security is addressed with a built-in fingerprint sensor, a Kensington lock slot and the Google Titan C hardware security chip, which supports secure boot and enhances overall data protection.
Running on ChromeOS, the Chromebook supports a wide array of applications, including Android and Linux apps. It comes with built-in Google Workspace applications that streamline workflow and facilitate collaboration, allowing seamless file syncing even when offline. Users have the option to expand storage up to 2TB via a microSD card.
In terms of connectivity options, the ExpertBook CX54 includes two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, one HDMI 2.1 port, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, a microSD card reader and a combo audio jack. This extensive range of ports enables users to connect various peripherals and displays easily.
The Asus ExpertBook CX54 Chromebook Plus weighs 1.3 kg and has dimensions of 31.37 x 22.28 x 1.69 cm, making it a portable option for users on the go. It features a 63 Wh lithium-polymer battery with a battery life of approximately 10 hours. Pricing for the ExpertBook CX54 Chromebook Plus starts at around Rs 76,500.
