The two day conference, SPIA ASIA commenced today here at the city centre in Thailand. The conference is supposed to be visited by delegates from all over Asia.
Presentations from the Sports Minister of Thailand and Permanent Secretary, Sports Ministry in Thailand initiated the conference. “Sports education results in human resource development. SPIA Asia not only promotes sports but through the same tries connecting people and ensure sports development through PPP model, said the minister, Mrs Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul.
The awards have been decided jointly by the jury members and through public voting and will be announced in special award sessions dispersed among the next two days.
Permanent Secretary, Sports Ministry added, “We wish to see more people enjoy sports and lead a healthy lifestyle”.
Represented by various global sports’ body’s heads, SPIA Asia plans to promote sports transcending national boundaries. Speaking in one of the inaugural sessions, Dr. Chiang Hock Woon, Deputy CEO, Sports Singapore said, “Sports brings people together, cuts through racial and national boundaries and brings inclusiveness in the society. We in Singapore want to promote sports as our national language”
The two day conference will end on 7th November with a charity auction.
