Another Teen Falls Prey To The Blue Whale Challenge

In another suspected suicide of a 19 year old boy who was found hanging in his home, another teenager fell prey to the dangerous online ‘game’ called the Blue Whale Challenge.

Vignesh, a 19 year old who was a second year college student from Thirumangalam, Madurai committed suicide. Authorities have confirmed that an image of the blue whale was drawn on the boy’s forearm along with the words ‘Blue Whale’ written as well.

Along with the body of the teenager, a note has been recovered too which claims that the Blue Whale Challenge is not a game but danger.

The Blue Whale Challenge has reportedly already claimed the lives of over 100 youngsters.

Taking all things into account, the Blue Whale Challenge has been very disturbing and continues to be so as according to a Google Trends report of the last 12 months, it shows that India has seen the highest number of searches related to the game in the world. Not only that but India has been holding this position for the last three months.

Kolkata was seen leading the list as the maximum number of Blue Whale Challenge related searches. But now Kochi( which is seeing a 100 per cent surge) has replaced Kolkata with the latter moving down to number three on the list and Thiruvananthapuram taking the second place, in the infamous list.

Out of the top 50 world cities where the highest number of Blue Whale Challenge related searches are done, the top 32 positions are held by Indian cities.

Moreover, episodes of game related suicides or suicide attempts seem to be coinciding with cities that made the Google Trends list.
