American Health Care Academy (AHCA), a key provider of healthcare certifications which operates in more than half a dozen countries, is planning to expand to newer markets in the very near future.
Founded by Hunaid Hakam in 2009 to address the gap in accessible and high-quality healthcare training, AHCA began operations in the US but has gradually expanded to India, Mexico, Vietnam, Latvia, Philippines, and Pakistan, with plans underway to expand to more countries.
Speaking about their future plans, American Health Care Academy Founder and CEO, Hunaid Hakam, says, “We have established a robust presence in the US and many other countries. Our plans also include expanding our presence in the US and increasing our market share. Moreover, we are venturing into the high-growth Canadian market very soon. We are also working on plans to introduce new business verticals that address gaps in healthcare education.”
AHCA believes in hiring global talent and more than 40 per cent of its employees are based in India. The remaining workforce is based in the US, Philippines, Europe, Mexico, and other countries.
AHCA, which is approved by the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), American Medical Association (AMA), American Nurses Credentialing Centre (ANCC), and the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), offers various online healthcare courses such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid certification.
These courses enhance theoretical learning and provide continuing education and practice. In addition to healthcare professionals, the company also trains individuals from non-healthcare backgrounds. Over the years, AHCA has certified more than one million students and 6,000+ corporate customers, immensely contributing to the overall goal of improving healthcare services and ensuring well-trained individuals in healthcare and varied industries. AHCA’s courses also contribute to up-skilling and training individuals, opening new doors of employment for them. The online mode of teaching ensures easy and affordable access to training.
“Our mission is to promote the health and well-being of individuals and communities by offering professional, updated, and high-quality online health training. Our goal is to prepare individuals to save lives. We build upon the educational and experiential foundation of healthcare professionals and the public at large through courses that provide theoretical background, practical hands-on experience, and knowledge,” says Hunaid Hakam, who overcame multiple hurdles such as lack of capital, market competition, talent acquisition, and regulatory compliances in the early days of AHCA.
AHCA’s course curriculum is continuously monitored and updated to meet changing national standards and the latest medical research. Additionally, its instructors are trained by the American Heart Association and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Its experienced team also comprises nurse planners, who are practising healthcare professionals.
