Indian Motorcycle has launched its most awaited the all-new Indian Scout Bobber at the India Bike Week 2017 for Rs 12,99,000 onwards (ex-showroom Delhi).
At the heart of the Bobber lies 1,133cc liquid-cooled V-Twin engine that produces 94hp (70kW) of power and 97Nm of peak torque at 5,600rpm.
The Indian Scout Bobber comes in with all new matte finished chrome, new colours, better riding position, and anti-skid braking system (ABS).
The new Scout Bobber would be available in five colours, - Thunder Black, Star Silver Smoke, Bronze Smoke, Indian Motorcycle Red, and Thunder Black Smoke.
It’s key features are - slammed stance, chopped fenders, blacked-out styling, all-new Kenda K761 knobbly tyres, black headlight nacelle, inimal engine covers and vented exhaust shields.
The handle bars and pegs have moved 38mm closer to the rider for better riding position.
Indian Motorcycle is also providing a full line of accessories including the Indian Scout Bobber passenger seat with sissy bar, Scout Bobber Solo Rack Bag & Saddlebag.
The bike measures 1,154mm X 2,276mm X 926mm, with 1,562mm of wheelbase, 649mm of seat height, and 123mm of ground clearance. With overall weight of 255kg, Indian Scout Bobber has a fuel capacity of 12.5 litres.
With the launch of the all-new Indian Scout Bobber, the company is aiming to expand its footprints in India.
However, before that happens it is indispensable to know how well the newly launched bike hold out against its competitors.
In India, the all-new Indian Scout Bobber will be having a tough competition from the likes of Triumph Bonneville Bobber, Harley-Davidson Forty-Eight, and Harley-Davidson Roadster.
Triumph Bonneville Bobber
The Bobber has been distilled from Bonneville T120, but it has its own hallmark features like clean lines, low single seat pan with hard tail look, wide flat bars, sculpted fuel tank, narrow front and wide rear wire spoked wheels, minimal headlight and steel mudguards with centre ridge.
The Triumph Bonneville Bobber has an adjustable riding position that can be tailored to suit the size and riding style of the rider. The aluminium seat pan can move up, down, forwards and backwards allowing you to tailor the seat position. The clock position can also be tailored that allows you to change the angle to suit your riding position.
Fundamental to the Bonneville Bobber are technologies like the ECU, ABS modulator, switchable traction control, torque-assist clutch, and immobiliser, and it comes with two selectable riding modes - road and rain.
It is available in colours - Jet Black, and Competition Green and Aluminium Silver with hand painted coach line.
Harley-Davidson Forty-Eight
This sportster motorcycle’s classic peanut fuel tank with badge first appeared on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle in 1948, thereby providing the inspiration for the Forty-Eight model name.
Harley-Davidson is offering six colour options for Forty-Eight - Crushed Ice Denim, Corona Yellow Pearl, Hard Candy Hot Rod Red Flake, Hard Candy Black Gold Flake, Billet Silver, and Vivid Black.
A front end with a tall, fat MT90 tyre gives the Forty-Eight model a grounding visual equal to that of a 1950 Mercury.
In terms of Handling, the Harley-Davidson Forty-Eight has foundation brake system, 49mm fork with cartridge dampening, split 9-spoke cast aluminium wheels, emulsion rear shock with screw adjuster
Harley-Davidson Roadster
The new Roadster brings a new level of premium features the Sportster line-up. Its package includes 43mm inverted front forks with massive triple clamps, powerful dual-disc front brakes, premium rear suspension and new digital gauge instrumentation to complement the iconic fuel tank and chopped rear fender.
It also features blacked-out styling, slammed handlebars and new gauge, new light-weight offset split 5-spoke wheels, new two-up seat and rear tail section, airbox with finned timer cover, and chrome exhaust shields with blacked-out muffler shields.
You can choose Harley-Davidson Roadster from an option of four body paint - Velocity Red Sunglo, Billet Silver/Vivid Black, Black Denim, and Vivid Black.
