Mahindra & Mahindra has launched the facelift of its premium SUV – the 2018 Mahindra XUV500 in India for Rs 12.39 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The vehicle features bold new design, plush, luxurious interiors, higher power and torque, enhanced suspension, and comes with a quieter cabin.
Available in 5 diesel variants (W5, W7, W9, W11 & W11 OPT) including an optional pack with larger 45.72 cm Alloy wheels and 1 petrol variant (G AT). Customers can choose from 7 colors – New Crimson Red, New Mystic Copper, Pearl White, Volcano Black, Moon Dust Silver, Opulent Purple & Lake Side Brown.
The 2018 Mahindra XUV500 comes with new design comprising of a new wider grille with chrome inserts, fog lamps with a refreshing new chrome bezel, an all-new tailgate with spit tail-lamps and a new spoiler, LED DRLs and larger 45.72 cm (235/60 R18) diamond-cut alloys.
The interiors of the SUV come with a premium new tan and black theme comprising of new quilted tan leather seats, finely crafted soft-touch leather dashboard and door trims and a new piano-black center console.
It is equipped with a more powerful mHawk engine. The 2.2L power plant delivers an output of 114kW @ 3750rpm and a torque of 360Nm @ 1750-2800rpm in the diesel variant, and 103kW of power at 4500rpm and torque of 320Nm @ 2000-3000rpm in the petrol variant.
It is high on safety features with 6 airbags, anti-lock braking system with electronic brake force distribution, electronic stability control with rollover mitigation, hill hold and hill descent control and disc brakes on all wheels. In addition, the XUV500 also offers safety feature of Emergency Calling.
First launched in 2011, Mahindra XUV500 facelift will face tough competition with Jeep Compass, Hyundai Creta, and Tata Hexa.
