Ola Krutrim, an AI startup founded by Bhavish Aggarwal of Ola Electric, launched a new mobile app for its chatbot on Saturday. The app is expected to rival major players such as OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google's Gemini.
Krutrim also announced the opening of its Krutrim Cloud to enterprises, developers and researchers. This strategic expansion is designed to lower the barriers for the development of technology products by providing access to AI computing infrastructure, foundational models and a variety of open-source models hosted on its platform.
The Aggarwal-led company seems to be diversifying its offerings by introducing foundational location services APIs and SDKs. These tools are aimed at fostering the creation of cutting-edge, localised mapping-based solutions, enhancing the company's portfolio in specialised technological sectors.
In a statement, Bhavish Aggarwal, Founder, Ola Krutrim said, “With Krutrim, our enterprises and developers will no longer have to be dependent on complex and cost-heavy western cloud platforms, which are not optimised for the Indian use cases. Our Krutrim assistant app will revolutionise the adoption of GenAI with its ability for a seamless integration into everyone’s life by solving the complexity and fragmentation often experienced with digital tools and services.”
This announcement comes on the heels of Krutrim AI achieving unicorn status earlier this year, after a successful funding round that raised USD 50 million at a USD 1 billion valuation. The round was led by Matrix Partners India, a significant vote of confidence from one of the leading venture capital firms.
