The annual alumni gathering of Birla Institute of Management and Technology (BIMTECH) attracted some 600 people representing different fields of life, including the corporate and media sectors.
Annurag Batra, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of BW Businessworld and exchange4media, was the chief guest at the event held on the campus on 6 December 2015.
Batra delivered a speech about entrepreneurship and stressed the fact that alumni were the real conduit with the institute and could play an important role in further developing BIMTECH.
He said they were the brand ambassadors of their alma-mater and this role required passion and commitment.
Dr H. Chaturvedi, director of BIMTECH, while welcoming the alumni, said such meetings gave an opportunity to current students to mingle with their seniors. He asserted that every student should make use of the opportunity of catching up with former students and teachers during such meets.
Chaturvedi said these events can be used by students to understand the real corporate world by exchanging thoughts with experienced minds.
A total of 233 alumni participated in the event along with hundreds of teachers, students and other guests.
The event saw a variety of cultural programmes.
