Today, on Nov 8, 2017, we complete one year of demonetisation in India. 8 November 2016 was just a date until Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi announced Demonetisation. From this day, Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes stopped circulating. Some find this step a boon whereas some observe it as a ‘Black Day’ for India. The government says this move will help in curbing black money but many people say it has harmed the small and medium enterprises and is bad for the Indian economy.
After one year of demonetisation, Government is still unable to give exact numbers on demonetised notes, black money, defaulters etc.
