Manoj Balachandran, Head CSR IBM India & South Asia and Biswajit Saha, Director of CBSE announced a partnership to implement artificial intelligence (AI) curriculum for classes 11 and 12 in about 200 high schools across 13 Indian states. The curriculum was co-created with Australia's Macquarie University and Indian implementation partners Learning Links Foundation and 1M1B to satisfy CBSE criteria for grades 11 and 12.
Speaking of the pandemic and its impact, particularly on the education sector, Balachandran believes that educators are expanding their teaching concepts and establishing communication channels with their students as a result of the transition into an online world, which occurred in less than a week. Saha adds, “Teaching is beyond just a profession, it requires educators to continue learning and broaden their views in order to serve and shape the future of tomorrow”.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced a partnership with tech giant IBM to implement artificial intelligence (AI) curriculum for classes 11 and 12 in about 200 high schools across 13 Indian states. The curriculum, created in partnership with IBM, is part of the CBSE's Social Empowerment through Work Education and Action (SEWA) initiative.
The IBM AI curriculum was launched in collaboration with CBSE with an aim to impart AI skills to 15,000 class 11 & 12 students and 6,000 teachers across India. “Artificial Intelligence (AI) has an influence on many aspects of our life. The question on educators' and economists minds is how technology will influence jobs in the future, and how can we educate our kids to compete in an increasingly automated, AI-driven society. Our exciting cooperation with CBSE aims to solve some of these obstacles by creating one of the most accessible and comprehensive portals for students to begin their AI adventure. AI will undoubtedly become widespread in our lives in the next few years, and it is essential to instil the knowledge and skills needed early in high school”. Balachandran sums up.

Evidently, today's students do not visit libraries and spend hours searching for the information they want. They can search for and show anything in seconds. Personalization based on AI has made the process of acquiring knowledge much easier.
