'Baahubali 2- The Conclusion', which released in Indian market on 28 April, 2017, has completed eight weeks at the box office and has managed to do what no other Indian movie ever dreamed of. The movie has managed to create history at the box office not just due to its Hindi dubbed version but in other languages too.
The film has managed a business of Rs 100 crore in Tamil Nadu itself. It further managed a collection of Rs 637 crore in Telugu, Tamil and its Malayalam versions. SS Rajamouli’s directorial venture that stars Rana Daggubati, Prabhas, Anushka Shetty, Ramya Krishnan, Tamannaah, Sathyaraj and Nassar has definitely set a new benchmark at the global box office, earning a worldwide collection of approx. Rs 1687 crore and is still playing across Rs 1000 screens in India and overseas too.
Talking about its Hindi version, it has broken the record of its closest competitor, Dangal that managed to rake in a total collection of Rs 387.38 crore, in just 14 days. ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’ in its Hindi dubbed version has managed to cross a business of Rs 50 crores in just 2 days, Rs 100 crore in 3 days, Rs 200 crore in 6 days, Rs 300 crore in 10 days, Rs 400 crore in 15 days and touched the milestone of Rs 500 crore in 34 days, something which no other Hindi movie has been able to do.
Despite being a Telugu film, the Hindi version has crossed a business of about Rs 511 crore and is still running. In its 8th week itself, which is a wonder in itself, the film recorded a total earning of Rs 2.22 crore.
Overseas too, the movie managed a collection of about Rs 300 crore. In the US, the movie has minted $12.6 million in just 6 days. Even though Dangal’s overseas collections were better due to its Chinese market but ‘Baahubali 2’ has definitely emerged as the winner due to its record busting run at the box office and created a phenomenon of its own.
