Redmi 4A, the new budget smartphone from the Chinese technology company, has been launched in India at Rs 5,999. The smartphone will be Amazon exclusive and will be up for sale starting March 23 on Amazon and Mi.com. Users will be able to pre-order the Redmi 4A even when the device is out of stock, to help the huge rush Redmi phones generate during its sale period.
The phone lives by its slogan, "Power to Everyone", as it packs in some great features at a very affordable rate. The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 425, an entry level chipset from Qualcomm, and is supported by 64 bit quad core processor. Redmi 4A comes with an IPS LCD screen with HD resolution (720p). The phone is coupled by 2GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage that can be expanded via a dedicated micro SD slot.
This is the lightest Redmi ever weighing just 131.5g. However the phone is packed with a 3120 mAh battery which gives standby for 7 days. The rear camera on the phone is a 13 MP shooter, while the front has a 5MP selfie camera. The phone runs Android Marshmallow with MIUI 8 on top of it. The smartphone supports dual 4G sim which enables VoLTE support and hence you can enjoy JIO free voice calls on this phone. Redmi 4A will have a polycarbonate body which will give it a classic hand feel.
Xiaomi Redmi 4A will come in dark grey, gold and rose gold color variants.
This is Xiaomi's second big smartphone launch for India this year. In January the company launched the Redmi note 4 in India which is a mega success and a major player of the mid-range market in India.
Xiaomi has opened a new manufacturing unit in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh in partnership with Foxconn. According to Xiaomi the plant employ 5000 people, 90% of which are women.
The Chinese Technology giant claims that it has sold over 1 million units of the newly launched Redmi Note 4. Xiaomi is the second largest smartphone manufacturer in the country. Xiomi's momentum in India is driven by budget smartphones and with the launch of Redmi 4 A, Xiaomi has proved its mettle.
