Xiaomi Mi Max 2 Launched In India: Price, Features, And Specifications

Xiaomi on Tuesday (18 July) launched its new smartphone Mi Max 2 in India. Priced at Rs. 16,999, the device will be available on Mi.com from 20 July 12 pm onwards to 21 July during the third Mi Anniversary sale in India.

Mi Max 2 smartphone was first launched in China on 25 May 2017. The company has been teasing the launch on social media platforms and the much-awaited smartphone is launched today.
Mi Max 2 is the successor of Mi Max which was launched in India last year. Xiaomi has been unveiling smartphones every week now; a few days back 250,000 units of Redmi 4 were sold out in India within 8 minutes of its launch.
Mi Max 2 runs on MIUI 8 based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM. It has an internal storage of 64GB which is expandable up to 128GB through a MicroSD card.
Max 2 features a 6.44-inch HD (1920x1080) IPS display with 2.5D glass and Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It sports a 12-MP Sony IMX 386 rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and dual LED Flash, on the front is a 5-megapixels selfie-camera with f/2.0.
The handset is backed by a non-removable 5300mAh battery which Xiaomi claims give stand by time of 31 days and talk time of 57 hours. The battery supports Quick Charge 3.0 which gives 68 per cent of charge in just one hour.
Mi Max 2 comes in metallic body with rounded edges and is 7.6mm thin. The device has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor just like its predecessor. The dual-SIM (nano+micro) device is compatible with 4G. Unlike Mi 6 which dropped the 3.5mm audio-jack, Mi Max 2 has a 3.5mm audio-jack on the top. The smartphone will be available in matte black shade.
Max 2 measures 174.1x88.7x7.6mm and weigh 211 grams. Connectivity options include - Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band Wi-Fi technology, Bluetooth v4.2, USB Type-C, A-GPS and GLONASS. The smartphone is also equipped with an infrared blaster which acts as a universal remote for TV and air-conditioners.
Mi Max will compete with the likes of Samsung Galaxy J7 Max, Moto G5 Plus, and Samsung Galaxy On Max among others.
