Select base metals gain on rising demand

Mumbai, Jan 9 (PTI) Select base metals including copper, brass and nickel gained further at the non-ferrous metal market here today on stockists' buying amidst rising demand from industrial users.

Aluminium ingots softened owing to sluggish demand from consuming industries.

Nickel regained by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 835 from Monday's close Rs 830.

Copper utensils and copper sheet cuttings rose by Rs 4 per kg each to Rs 411 and Rs 427 as against Rs 407 and Rs 423, yesterday.

Brass sheet cuttings moved up by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 343 as compared Rs 340.

Copper scrap heavy, copper armiture, brass utensils scrap edged up by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 440, Rs 430 and Rs 330 as against Rs 438, Rs 428 and Rs 328, previously.

Copper cable scrap and copper billets inched up per kg each to Rs 448 and Rs 476.

However, aluminium ingots inched down per kg to Rs 157. PTI BPD ADI
