Pure Nutrition, an online nutraceutical platform start-up founded by holistic nutritionist Luke Coutinho and Vinoth Kumar, has closed its Rs 40 million seed funding transaction with Asha Jindal Khaitan, a veteran in the health and wellness industry. The investor, who is closely associated with Jindal Naturecare Institute, a pioneer in drugless therapy and a leading hospital specialised in Naturopathy and Yoga, has also invested in a few other nutraceutical ventures earlier.
Pure Nutrition mainly operates in 5 different types of verticals namely dietary supplements, super foods, protein powder, pure herbal infusions and cold pressed oils. The latest funding will be utilized to accelerate the development of product, sales expansion, sales support, brand building, operations and marketing.
The company will also invest in creating infrastructure and hiring of talents.

But, unique strategies such as new and niche formulations will help them to become successful.
“There will be a tremendous competition from the organized sector and large players backed with a strong research and development. The only way to sustain is to produce unusual formulations which are very unique in terms of bio-availability,” she said.
The gamut of products available under the roof of Pure Nutrition falls under a very niche category with superior price range, and this gave me the confidence to invest in the company, she added.
According to the founders of the company, Pure Nutrition, which has already won a gamut of accolades in the health and nutraceutical arena, has an impressive product line with a high recall value and a repeated list of clientele.
“Pure Nutrition offers a bundle of healthy plant-based formulations and food supplements that offer to you a gamut of natural foods, herbal teas and enhancements that are rich in natural nutrients aiming to avert, condense and cure ailments and augment one’s overall health and well-being,” said key founder Luke Coutinho.
The product line currently boasts of a well-diversified product portfolio, comprising a variety of natural foods, supplements and herbal infusions, packed with natural nutrients, he said.
The company, which was started as Herbs India Pure Nutrition four years ago and later rechristened to its present brand name, has developed comprehensive prescriptions for weight management and holistic nutrition.
