The grand launch was attended by Hollywood and Bollywood celebrities, style influencers and some of New York City's most elite.
The fourth retail boutique for the brand, and first in the US, is located on New York's Madison Avenue "Gold Coast" and houses some of the world's most coveted jewels adorned with exceptional diamonds and precious gems.
The 700 square feet store is designed by acclaimed Spanish artist-designer Jamie Hayon.
"Establishing a presence in the United States is a key milestone of our growth strategy as a leading international luxury brand," said Nirav Modi, founder of the eponymous brand.
"The sophisticated American woman will recognise, as soon as she enters the boutique, that each jewel and the entire experience is designed to pay tribute to her beauty, and to make her look and feel 'everyday spectacular', the diamond jewellery designer added.
Nirav Modi displayed the renowned maharani diamond necklace and rarrings set, valued at $1.65 million, in the window, setting the stage for the kind of luxury items now available at the boutique.
Nirav Modi was ranked second on the Wealth-X list of India's wealthiest jewellers with an estimated net worth of $1.1 billion.
