Lenovo K8 Note Vs Lenovo K6 Note: Which Is A Better Buy?
What is the difference between these two devices, and why should a user upgrade to the new K8 Note?
Lenovo recently launched its latest flagship killer K8 Note smartphone in India which is the successor of Lenovo’s K6 Note. Lenovo also said that they skipped the ‘K7 Note’ because it wasn’t ‘killer enough’. Lenovo revealed that they have sold 8.5 million units of ‘K’ series smartphones in India which is the reason Lenovo has entered into the league of top five smartphone vendors in India. So what is the difference between two ‘K-Note’ devices, and why should a user upgrade to the new K8 Note?
Software and Performance
Lenovo K8 Note runs on stock Android 7.1.1 Nougat and powered by 2.3 Ghz Helio X23 Deca-core processor. It comes in two RAM+storage configurations- 3GB+32GB and 4GB+64GB and the storage is expandable up to 128GB through MicroSD card. The handset has dedicated MicroSD slot for expanding storage.
On the other hand, Lenovo K6 Note runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Lenovo’s Vibe Pure UI skin on top though users can upgrade to Android 7.0 Nougat. It is powered by a 1.4 Ghz Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor which is available with two RAM variants- 3GB and 4GB. Buyers will get 32GB storage with both variants and it is expandable up to 128GB through hybrid dual-SIM configuration where second-SIM slot doubles as MicroSD card holder.
Display and Camera
Lenovo K8 Note features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1920x1080) display with 2.5 D curved glasses and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 for protection from scratch. It sports 13-megapixels+5-megapixels dual camera at the rear with LED flash. On the front is a 13-megapixels selfie camera with wide angle lens, front flash, Pro mode and beauty mode.
The predecessor K6 Note also features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1920x1080) display but it is not offered with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. It sports a 16-megapixels rear camera with PDAF and CCT flash. On the front is an 8-megapixels selfie-camera.
Battery and other features
K8 Note is backed by a 4000mAh non-removable battery which supports fast charging and comes with a 15W Turbo charger. The device has a security fingerprint sensor below the rear camera which unlocks it in 0.3 seconds. The handset is splash resistant and also has a dedicated music key which allows users to play, pause or rewind the music. The dedicated music key can also be used as a shortcut key for actions like- opening flashlight, camera or even take a screenshot.
Lenovo’s K6 Note is backed by a 4000mAh non-removable battery which also supports fast charging. Lenovo claims that the battery gives up to 31 hours of talk time. The device has a fingerprint sensor below the rear camera which is used to unlock it.
Connectivity options and Dimensions
K8 Note measures 154.5 x 75.9 x 8.5mm and weighs 180 grams. Connectivity options are – Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, dual-SIM, 4G VoLTE, 3.5mm audio-jack, micro USB, and GPS.
K6 Note measures 151 x 76 x 8.4mm and weighs 169 grams. Connectivity options are – Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, dual-SIM, 4G VoLTE, 3.5mm audio-jack, micro USB, and GPS.
Lenovo K8 Note will be exclusively available on Amazon 18 August 12 pm onwards. The 3GB variant is priced at Rs 12,999 and the 4GB variant at Rs 13,999. Lenovo is also offering 80 per cent discount on e-books, Moto Sports headphones at a price of Rs 699, and Idea users will get 64GB free data+ unlimited calls for 56 days at Rs 343. It is available in fine gold and venom black colours.
Given the specs Lenovo is offering under this price tag, K8 Note is worth an upgrade.

The handset is available in offline as well as online channels across India now with each retailer selling it with different price tags. It is available in dark gray, gold and silver colours.
