I Don’t Favour Such Events Unless They Get Returns, Jitendra Chaudhary MoS North East Affairs

North-East part of India had been selectively neglected by alleged mainland, where they have a better literacy rate a better productivity and a fairly beautiful environment to enjoy the life

During the session on ‘North East India’s organic production Hub: Opportunities Unexplored’ topic at world food India, Jitendra Singh the minister who is handling North-East ministry said if these events do not return results I do not want them to take place in a five-star condition. I would prefer them to be at the spot which is natural to let an investor explore about the ground reality in original conditions.

Answering to a question by BW Businessworld on how the organic growth of India will manage to attract investors when we produce less organic but the number of people in the organic trade is second highest in the world? Jitender Singh had accepted that it is the truth that we are yet to create synergy between the gaps, he gave an example of how it has been successfully done in tourism which has nothing when it came to North-East India. Replying to another question on how will north-east be competitive when it is very near to a huge USD six billion Chinese organic markets, Jitender Singh responded that unless we will fight we will not come out, North-East has nothing in terms of even infrastructure, so whoever comes has a complete package of investment in North-East.

Minister had also been critical to how, North east part of India had been selectively neglected by alleged mainland, where they have a better literacy rate a better productivity and a fairly beautiful environment to enjoy the life.  We will also look to imbibe traditional knowledge with organic practice said Jitender Singh in response to another question.

The Unexplored Destination

North-East is the bordering region with Myanmar, Bangladesh & Tibet which gives it access to ASEAN nations multi-trillion dollar economy, the session had multiple points to focus upon where it had been said that the state of Sikkim is Organic and declared as 100 percent organic state of the nation. It has geographical advantage of natural resources forestry and a predominantly organic cultivation.

With an organic by default nature, it has all the potentials to become a hub for organic production and market which has some extensively high rising number of consumer preference in European and Oceania markets. With the government's support on schemes like Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojna, North-East may get best of the results for food processing industry.

North East has some 53 per cent contribution to India’s tea production, 11 per cent of contribution respectively for India’s spices and aromatic plant market along with five percent of contribution in fruits and four per cent of contribution in vegetables in India.
