GroupL hosted its third Facility Management Conference 2017 in Mumbai on 26 May 2017. The topic of the conference was ‘GroupL Connect - FM in a Connected World.’ Created as a platform for wide-ranging discussions around facilities management’s role and impact, the conference was focused on the views of the thought leaders both who serve as and those who receive services from the FM industry. This year’s conference attracted a good number of business leaders, FM, HR and workplace professionals.

Col. Anurodh Mishra, Senior General Manager, Tata Consulting Engineers led the discussion on ‘Should FM be sector or service based.’ “FM’s role is to help the employees to do their activities by providing the primary services,” he observed.
Explaining the ‘Marketing of FM,’ Gary Grover, VP – Administration, HDFC Life said, “Nobody notices my job, until I stop doing it.” He also detailed the importance of FM in daily office routine and the technology advancements in the sector.

Evolving from last year's theme on enhancing the user experience, the 2017 conference explored how technological advances are transforming the way the world works and how facilities and workplaces can be created, managed and developed to deliver results for business and society.
The conference also examined new influences of technology, people’s exposure to it, the training required to implement and how these are impacting on the facilities management sector.
The attendees at the conference (collectively) are managing over 100 million square feet of prime office space in India and employing over 10 lakh staff, under their current portfolio.
Launched in 2015, GroupL Connect is the bi-annual flagship conference from GroupL Services.
