Telecom majors Airtel, Vodafone and Idea have come out with lucrative data plans to counter the 4G offers provided by newcomer Reliance Jio. Jio continues to offer discounted services under the Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan offer, and Airtel, Vodafone and Idea are facing the heat as their existing consumer base seems to shift to the much-cheaper Jio network.
Over the last few months, Jio’s disruptive positioning in the market has forced other operators to respond with generous counter-offers to retain customers, making the Indian telecom market of 1.12 billion subscribers a highly-competitive sector.
Reliance Jio recently announced a new plan where they are providing 1GB 4G data daily for three months at just Rs.309 for its prime members. Under the plan, a customer can avail unlimited SMS, calling and data (1GB 4G data per day) for three months for a first-time recharge.
